My Story
Drawing and painting have been a part of my life since elementary school.
My father was a commercial illustrator. As a child, I would spend hours using his paint, pencils and brushes to create my own paintings and drawings. My own career path would lead me in a different direction. I had a thirty year career in healthcare, my other passion.
Since retiring, I am now able to continue my passion for making art on a full time basis. I have an interest in Realism and Abstract Realism.
I thoroughly enjoy the process of making art. The intense study of the subject followed by the application of whatever medium I am using, to the manipulation of value, color, line and edges in order to elicit an emotional response from the viewer.
There is so much beauty in our physical world. As most of us go about our busy lives, we sometimes fail to really see and appreciate this beauty. If I can capture the viewer’s attention so that they stop and study the subject and have an emotional experience, then I feel that I have succeeded in the piece.
